The refrain of the hymn, “Wherever He leads I’II go” by B.B McKinney well describes our devotional topic. It reads: “Wherever He leads I’ll go. Wherever He leads I’ll go. I’ll follow my Christ who loves so, wherever He leads I’ll go.” Jones returned home on furlough from Brazil but fell ill. Despite this, he told McKinney with tears that wherever Jesus leads he will go.
Our text reveals the conversation of Jesus with a rich young man who wanted to know what to do to inherit eternal life, being a keeper of the law. In response, Jesus instructed him to sell all his possessions, which have possessed him and give the proceeds to the poor. After doing this, Jesus invited him to come, and follow Him. This instruction dealt with a matter in his life which would determine his eternal destiny. Unfortunately, he went away without following Jesus.

Anyone who wants to follow Jesus must be ready to part with anything that would compete with the Lordship of Christ. For some, it is their rich family background or intelligence. Others may be possessed by their physical beauty, rich connections or worldly friends.

Prayer Of Salvation

Say This Prayer

Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart
