TEXT: MATTHEW 6:33-34

[NBC] Seek Daily Devotional || July 1st 2022 — Focus On The Kingdom

In the Mahabharata, Arjuna archery by his teacher along with the other students. The teacher, Dronacharya hung a wooded crow from a tree branch and then summoned his students to aim for the crow’s eye but first explain what they saw. The first student says: “I see the garden, the tree, the flowers, everything!” The teacher asked the student to step aside and not to shoot. Others said the same thing. Then came Arjuna, when asked, he said: “The only thing I can see is the crow’s eye”. Guru Dronacharya said: “Release your bow” and Arjuna hit the crow in the middle of his eye.

Like Arjuna, those who will make the kingdom of God must focus on it. It should be the most important and obviously the only thing they are seeing. Children of God must seek the kingdom of God and its righteousness above all other things and avoid all distractions. Such uneasiness will only make the target more difficult to reach. God promised to take care of other things. He won’t fail.

To make the kingdom of God, close your eyes to those things that constitute distraction on earth. Always focus on God’s Word and His Kingdom, do His will without grumbling and continue to enjoy His promises in diverse ways. He has never failed and He will never fail. You do your part and leave the rest for God.

Insight: The kingdom of God must be your priority.

Prayer: LORD, please help me to keep my eyes fixed on Your kingdom.
