Someone read with amazement about a Russian Christian who said that it was much easier to be a Christian there than in the West.
He said, “In our country, when you make a decision to follow Christ, it’s a clear decision because you know that one day you may pay for it with your life.” “But in your country, life is so easy. There is no persecution, it’s so much harder to really follow Jesus.”

Following the miracles God did through the early apostles and increase of believers the high priests, full of jealousy, arrested and imprisoned the apostles.
However, their persecutors were amazed when they continued to preach the gospel as God instructed. This further brought them to the Sanhedrin council with a threat to their lives. But the apostles resolved to obey God and not man.

Christians should prepare for persecution on our pilgrimage journey and resolve to lift the banner of Christ instead of shrinking it out of fear. Persecution is an attack from the kingdom of darkness. We must trust the power of God to overcome and defend the faith like the early apostles.

Insight:  Persecution is an unavoidable test for our loyalty to Christ.

Prayer:  LORD, I receive the grace to stand firm in the face of persecution.
RBT Passage:  Songs of Solomon 1-4

Prayer Of Salvation

Thank you for reading Devotional Here Today On Kingdom Sermons, You are encouraged to please give your life to the LORD JESUS CHRIST if you have not done that before.

Say This Prayer

Dear God,
I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised.
