Bible Text: Jeremiah 20:7-13

One of the most painful experiences of life is when one is confronted with agony of life coming from friends and not foes. This is because we have always come to trust and repose confidence of love and security in our acquaintances.

Prophet Jeremiah had a bitter experience from his own Israelites (vs. 1-2; 7-9). God choose him to deliver His message to the Israelites (Jeremiah 1:5). But the people refused to obey God’s Words. They turned against Jeremiah and treated him harshly, and planned to kill him (vs. 10). But Jeremiah got encouraged with the assurance that God is able to protect and deliver him from all his foes. He added that all his enemies will fail in all of their evil enterprises against him (vs. 11-12).

What trials are you going through? Sometimes the challenges of life are like fire in our bones. Some of these trials come from those very close to us. However, do not be discouraged. Be strong in the LORD and know that he is able to truncate all the trials and give you exceeding peace. Cheer-up!

Insight: God has the capacity to end all pains and agony.

Prayer: Father, save me from all challenges of life.
